Guardianships
A guardianship is a legal process where a person receives court approval to act as guardian, and this person has the legal authority (and the corresponding duty) to care for the personal and property interests of another person, called a ward. Usually, a person has the status of guardian because the ward is incapable of caring for his or her own interests due to infancy, incapacity, or disability.
Guardianships can be a very difficult issue. When you are faced with an elderly parent no longer capable of caring for themselves but refusing to acknowledge their condition, guardianship proceedings can become very emotional. You need an attorney who can help you navigate the requirements for establishing a guardianship and still pay special attention to the delicate nature of such proceedings.
At The Law Offices of Andrew J. Hauser, Ltd., we guide our clients through this process, respecting the emotional nature of these types of proceedings. Our clients know they can rely on our services for confidential, thorough legal services. Whether establishing a guardianship for an elderly parent or a child, we devote our legal skills to your satisfaction.
